Panther Creek High School's Theater Department has theatre classes going up to Theatre IV and a newly created Technical Theatre class. Theater I introduces the student to warm-ups and improvisation which prepares the student for more difficult acting opportunities in higher level classes. The Theatre I & II classes usually have professionally written scenes with 10-minute plays that are student-written. Theatre III and IV classes perform scenes in which Theatre III students perform and the Theatre IV students direct. These are performed for other classes or during SMART lunch near the end of the semester. Each year, Panther Creek performs two productions, one play in the fall and one musical in the spring. The shows that have been performed go as follows:
Year | Fall Plays | Spring Musicals |
---|---|---|
2006 - 2007 | "Snow Angel" | Disney's "High School Musical" |
2007 - 2008 | "As You Like It" | "Bye Bye Birdie" |
2008 - 2009 | "Murder's In The Heir" | "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" |
